  • On site, managed by Anchored camp. There is an excellent arena with logs boards walls and obstacles.

  • Guided trip in Canoes on Suwanee River. Must have a minimum of 20 max of 40. Transport upstream, put in canoes, and paddle with the current back to Anchored Camp. Depending on interest level we will choose 45 min or 2 hr trip or swap on Fri/Sat

There will be 3 hour, 45 minute free time period on both Friday and Saturday set aside specifically for activities but thats your free time to do with it as you choose.   

As a special treat, free helicopter rides will be offered as an activity on Friday and Saturday.  Dwight Bell is bringing his bird!  Limited slots are available so men will be selected through a random drawing.  Just fill out your lottery ticket upon check in if you are interested.  Winners will be announced on Thursday night.  Activity fees will not be refunded.    

Anchored Camp has all kinds of pastime games for free:  Basketball, Gaga Pit, Sand Volleyball, Corn Hole, Large Chess, Checkers, Jenga and Connect 4.  Inside the pavilion is billiards (pool), Ping Pong and Foosball 

Swimming Pool will be open Friday and Saturday during free time  (hours TBD) no lifeguard provided.  

If you want to play golf?  http://www.chieflandgcc.com/  Chiefland Golf Course is 17 miles away.  

Bring your own boat or kayak or watercraft!  Boat ramp is onsite. Plenty of canoes are provided seems no point in bringing one of those.  Note you are not allowed to leave watercraft in the river overnight.    

Fishermen!  Fishing poles are provided but I bet if you are serious then you would bring your own.

A special roundtable discussion (Saturday Night) on the topic of how the 12 steps and The Larger Story are synergistic, i.e. they fit, support and magnify each other.  Optional but open to anyone who is interested.

The story of Return To Glory / Wild at Heart boot camp is one of men encountering God and experiencing breakthrough, freedom, and strength restored.   This is not a retreat about the “seven things a man ought to do to be a nicer guy.” It is an immersive quest into the recovery of a man’s masculine soul, the release of a man’s heart—his passions and his true nature—all given him by God. It’s an invitation to rush the fields at Bannockburn, to go West, to leap from the falls and save the beauty. For if a man is going to know who he truly is as a man, if he is going to find a life worth living, love a woman deeply, and not pass on his confusion to his children, he simply must get his heart back. 


Return To Glory Basic is a collection of Wild at Heart Boot Camp videos from John Eldredge and his team. The content and presented materials are the exact same as a live Boot Camp experience, which have been restoring the hearts of men, in partnership with the Holy Spirit, since 2002.  The Return To Glory team will be supplementing these videos with live presentations as well, sharing their experiences from years of living in this message that we call "The Larger Story" which we started in 2008.   The Boot Camp is composed of video/live sessions, time alone with God, and play time, all to nourish our souls.  Our team will be sharing their stories live as part of the sessions,  and in optional breakout sessions addressing the key points of John's teaching.  


Speaking of "play time":  There will be long breaks on Friday and Saturday for adventure.  Anchored Camp offers all kinds of water adventures.  Laser tag!   We may have a guest helicoper on site with rides.    And of course we have campfires in the evening, where we gather to share our stories, bring our questions, and begin to form bands of brothers.  https://anchored.camp/

A new venue this year for RTG: 

Camp Anderson ANCHORED, on the Suwanee River is a spacious relaxing campus.  Activities include canoe trips, laser tag, hiking and all kinds of games both indoors and out.  The pool or river is available to cool off if it gets hot.  The auditorium is situated on the bank of the Suwannee River with garage doors that slide up for an open air yet sheltered experience.    Its 116 miles down through Perry, about 2 hours from Tallahassee.   In the city of Old Town Florida.

I cannot express to you and your team how much I received from the retreat. I am very encouraged and strengthened by all I learned.  I am dedicated to continue the journey I began through this new understanding I gained about the spiritual warfare we fight.  The one most important part for me I learned was about the agreements I made both consciously and unconsciously throughout my life. Now, I know where they came from and how to make corrections to those agreements that have caused me to take and make choices against the goals I wanted for my life through Jesus. I can see now the evil that Satan wanted my participation in.   I am now dedicated to an understanding of how to battle against Satan through my Savior and Lord, Christ Jesus.  I know that there is more to come. I keep composing sermons in my head from all I learned at the retreat. I will be reading and learning more from John Eldridge's team and programs they and you have created for men.   God continue to bless you and your life as you continue to move forward with your goals. I don't even think words can explain what that camp did for me! It was amazing to be around other believing men just learning and healing together. There was just a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that I gained from this experience with the Lord Almighty. Even that night when I ended up playing pool with the guys ALL night. I didn't know I needed that so much. It was like water to a man in the desert. I used to be in a pool league. I was on a couple of teams. The men and women became family. I had to forsake them and follow Jesus. So it was the Lord saying I know son but remember you gave that up for me.. I'm crying as I just wrote that. He sees my sacrifice and gave me a night of fellowship with some amazing guys! We laughed and danced. It was the cherry on top of the Sunday. He resurrected me there. He is still rolling stones!! I will absolutely be encouraging other men to attend in 6 months. It is so awesome to see that this last weekend is not only making a difference in my life but my companions' life as well. He could not stop talking about how glad he was I invited him.  God spoke to me this weekend through my quiet time. My last quiet time on the dock, the waves were really kicking up with no boats around and I felt strong wind in my face. I really felt the presence of The Holy Spirit. Thank you for literally saving me. Long way to go but I am being aware of where I am still looking for my validation and promptly denouncing it. Same with all the agreements that are from the enemy. Great first step with many to go. Lord willing, I will see you in 6 months along with Bob and a few other men. Every man needs this!!!  .... John Bertic
